Asia 2005 Journey Day Nine

                                            May 12, 2005:  Sandstorm from the Gobi Desert created haze conditions.  The Forbidden City, or now called 

                                            the Palace Museum, is the main visited area of Beijing.  The palace construction was started in 1407 and is 

                                            the largest palace complex in the World.  A 30 foot high wall and 18 foot deep moat surrounds the complex 

                                            of 9,999 buildings.  Much restoration work is ongoing on the perimeter buildings.  Gold colored roof tiles used
