The Château of Chambord is located in France's Loire Valley.
The well known and elaborate Renaissance chateau dates back
to the early 1500s and contains a fascinating double helix
staircase. The staircase is actually two staircases interconnected
allowing two persons to climb up and down without meeting.
A frequent visitor to the Loire Valley was Leonardo da Vinci and
this may have been another of his insightful works. If he wasn't
a contributing architect, at least he would have enjoyed the 365
fireplaces in the Château. on
